How do these 'Gate addresses work? A 'Gate connects to another 'Gate by a seven-symbol sequence. The first six symbols represent six points in space; those six points could be used to draw three lines, the intersection of which would indicate the destination 'Gate. Thus, each planet has six specific symbols to represent its location. The seventh symbol entered into a 'Gate dialing sequence indicates the start 'Gate; each 'Gate also has a Home Symbol. Once the Home Symbol matches up with the Address Sequence of another 'Gate, the wormhole is established. |
